Written by Samuel Beckett Costume Design by Ali Rose Panzerella Set Design by Ryan Dunn Arts on the Waterfront Seattle, Washington August 2013 An outdoor, site-specific and free production set on Seattle's historic waterfront. In Waiting for Godot, two wandering tramps, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a lonely tree, to meet up with Mr. Godot, an enigmatic figure in a world where time, place and memory are blurred and meaning is where you find it. The tramps hope that Godot will change their lives for the better. Instead, two eccentric travelers arrive, one man on the end of the other's rope. “A stellar intellectual play performed with quick wit, near-perfect timing, and smooth physicality. . . Within the first ten minutes of the play I was not only transfixed, but also incredibly impressed. . . Spectacular” -Rachel Gallaher, City Arts Magazine "Amiable yet sinister...nailed the jokes...as if by magic, they keep our attention." -Brendan Kiley, The Stranger "Inspired....[a] keen understanding of the existential dilemma and absurdist humor of the play’s hapless pair...spectacular" -Misha Berson, The Seattle Times |
